Piano moving in Calgary is easy to book; the right crew for it, however, is not. Every mover says they can move a piano. The difference is what arrives: a piano board, straps rated for the weight and a crew that has done it, or instead two people and a hope. So we move uprights, baby grands, gun safes, hot tubs, fitness equipment and oversized artwork as their own bookings. Each is sized and equipped for the item. Moreover, we tell you honestly on the phone whenever a piece will not clear your stairwell.
Every piano & specialty moving job includes
- Upright and grand pianos on a proper piano board, with legs and lyre removed and then crated
- Gun safes and vault safes to 1,000 lb, moved with stair-climbing equipment
- Hot tubs disconnected by you, then lifted, moved and set on the new pad by us

Measure first
Item dimensions and weight, both stairwells, door widths and the truck's parking spot. In fact, most specialty jobs are won or lost here.

Equip the crew
Piano board, stair climber, four-wheel dollies and straps rated for the load. Above all, enough people to control it on the stairs.

Move it once
Wrapped, strapped and then moved in one controlled motion. In other words, nothing is "walked" down a staircase.

Set and reassemble
Finally, piano legs back on and levelled, safe bolted down if you want it, hot tub set square on the pad.

Upright piano movers
An upright inside Calgary is usually the two-hour minimum with three movers, so $680 all-in at $170/hr including the truck hour. It rides on a piano board, strapped, and it never gets "walked" down a stair.
Grand piano movers
Legs and lyre come off, then the body goes on its side on a padded board. The crew is sized to the weight and the turns, so grands are quoted after we know the stairs and the doorways.
Pool table movers
Slate comes out and travels flat, while the frame, rails and legs are marked and wrapped separately. Ask whether you want it reassembled and levelled at the other end, and then we bring the shims.
Safe and gun safe movers
Safes to about 1,000 lb move on a stair-climbing dolly with a crew sized to the weight. So tell us the safe's weight and the stair layout, and then we confirm it is possible before we book it.
Gym and fitness equipment movers
Treadmills, ellipticals, racks and commercial machines are dismantled wherever the manufacturer allows, then wrapped and rebuilt. Home gyms in a basement are mostly a stairs question, so say so when you call.
Appliance movers
Fridges, ranges, washers and dryers are strapped upright on appliance dollies, then protected through every doorway. Before we arrive, have the fridge defrosted and the washer drum locked if the model needs it.
Hot tub movers
Drained and disconnected by you, then lifted, moved and set square on the new pad by us. Access around the side of the house, meanwhile, decides the crew size.
Antiques, art and fragile item movers
Mirrors, framed art and glass tops go in purpose-built cartons, while antiques get blanket-wrapped and ride where nothing can shift onto them. Tell us what matters most, and then it is loaded last and out first.

Rates are per hour, plus a one-hour truck fee, with a two-hour minimum of work. In addition, the rate includes blankets, dollies, straps, shrink wrap and basic disassembly. So there is no fuel surcharge and no equipment charge.
