About VC Movers, a Calgary Moving Company
We are a Calgary moving company with a simple operating rule. Quote it honestly, show up when we said we would, and finish the job you hired us for.

Who we are
A Calgary moving company on the road every day
VC Movers has moved Calgary households and businesses since 2018, across all four quadrants. We also go out to Airdrie, Okotoks, Chestermere, Cochrane, High River and the smaller towns beyond them.
Over that time we have earned a 5.0-star rating across 108 verified Google reviews. We would rather you check them yourself than take our word for it.
Read the reviewsHow we quote
We price on the four things that actually determine how long a move takes: room count, stair flights, carry distance and elevator access. Square footage is close to useless. A 1,100 square foot third-floor walk-up is a much bigger job than a 1,600 square foot bungalow with the truck at the door.
That means we ask more questions on the first call than most companies do. It also means the number we give you is the number you pay. Nobody calls you at hour seven to explain that stairs were extra.
What we charge for - and what we don't
You pay an hourly rate based on crew size, plus one hour of truck time. That hour covers our drive to you and back to the yard, and that is the whole structure.
There is no fuel surcharge, no equipment rental line, no stair fee, no heavy-item fee and no double-billed travel time. The rate includes blankets, dollies, straps, shrink wrap, floor runners, door protection and basic furniture disassembly and reassembly. They are not optional extras; they are how the job gets done properly.
What we won't do
- We will not transport hazardous materials - propane, gasoline, paint, aerosols, ammunition or fireworks.
- We will not quote a firm price without knowing the stairs, the elevator and the parking.
- We will not recommend a smaller crew than the job needs just to win the booking on price.
- We will not add a charge on moving day that was not on the quote you agreed to.
Insured, and able to prove it
We carry both cargo and liability coverage. Most Calgary condo corporations and commercial landlords require a certificate of insurance naming them. Without it, they will not release an elevator or a loading dock. Send us the requirements and our insurer issues one, usually within one business day. If a Calgary moving company cannot do this, it should not be moving you into a managed building.
Why this Calgary moving company publishes its prices
Most Calgary moving company websites will not tell you a rate. You call, someone qualifies you, and eventually a number arrives. We publish ours because the alternative wastes your time and ours. Besides, a company confident in its pricing has no reason to hide it. Our rates are on every page of this site.

What a move actually costs
Published rates, because you should not have to phone three companies to find out whether you can afford to move.
2 movers + truck
$130/hr
Apartments, condos, 1-2 bedroom homes
3 movers + truck
$170/hr
3 bedroom homes, most house moves
4 movers + truck
$230/hr
Large homes, offices, tight timelines
Rates are per hour, plus a one-hour truck fee, with a two-hour minimum. The rate includes blankets, dollies, straps, shrink wrap and basic disassembly, and there is no fuel surcharge and no equipment charge.
Typical all-in totals
| Home size | Crew | Work | Estimated total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Studio / 1 bedroom apartment | 2 movers | 3-4 hrs | $520 - $650 |
| 2 bedroom apartment or condo | 2-3 movers | 4-6 hrs | $650 - $910 |
| 3 bedroom house | 3 movers | 6-9 hrs | $1,190 - $1,700 |
| 4+ bedroom house | 4 movers | 8-12 hrs | $2,070 - $2,990 |
Totals include the one-hour truck fee, and they also assume you have boxed everything before we arrive. However, stairs, long carries and packing services move a job toward the upper end.
