Packing Services in Calgary - how it works
Our packing services in Calgary cover the whole house, the kitchen only, or just the fragile items. Packing is where most moves go over time and over budget, because the boxes that were "nearly done" the night before are what add three hours to moving day. So we pack the day before, at the same hourly crew rates we publish for moving and then the truck day starts with everything boxed, labelled by room and ready to carry. Full packing, partial packing or fragile items only: either way, you choose the scope.
Every packing services job includes
- Full-house packing, or partial: for example the kitchen, glassware, artwork, closets or the garage
- Dish barrels, wardrobe boxes, picture cartons and mattress bags, all supplied with the job
- Every box labelled by destination room, so unloading takes half the time
- Fragile items double-wrapped and packed upright, never laid flat under weight
- Electronics and TVs packed in their original boxes where you have them, otherwise crated
- Unpacking on request the same day, with all the packing material taken away too

Scope call
First, you tell us what to pack and what to leave. Then we estimate the packer-hours and list the materials, so the number is known before anyone opens a box.

Pack day
Usually the day before the move. Rooms are packed one at a time, then sealed, labelled and stacked by room, with an inventory of anything valuable.

Move day
The crew that packed knows exactly what is in every box and how it should ride in the truck. In other words, nothing is mystery cargo.

Unpack, if you want it
Kitchen first, then beds and bathrooms, then everything else. Meanwhile, we flatten and remove the boxes as we go.

Professional packers
Two or three packers work a home room by room, wrapping, boxing, sealing and then labelling by destination. So a two-bedroom home is usually a four-to-six-hour pack the day before the truck.
Full packing service
Everything in the house, kitchen to garage, packed and inventoried. Then on moving day the crew that packed it knows exactly what is in each box and how it should ride.
Partial packing service
The kitchen is the most common partial pack, because it is the slowest room to do well and the easiest to break. Glassware, artwork, closets and the garage are the other usual requests.
Movers and packers on one booking
A full-service move: we pack the day before and then move the next, with one crew, one estimate and no second company to coordinate.
Unpacking services
Kitchen first, then beds and bathrooms, then the rest, with boxes flattened and removed as we go. Ask for it when you book the pack, or otherwise add it on the day.
Moving boxes and supplies
We bring the specialty items most people do not own, such as dish barrels, picture cartons, wardrobe boxes and mattress bags and we charge only for what we use. Your own boxes are welcome too.

Rates are per hour, plus a one-hour truck fee, with a two-hour minimum. The rate includes blankets, dollies, straps, shrink wrap and basic disassembly, and there is no fuel surcharge and no equipment charge.

How is packing priced?
At our published hourly crew rates, $130/hr for two packers and $170/hr for three, plus boxes and materials, which we quote with your estimate rather than surprising you on the day. So a two-bedroom home is usually a four-to-six-hour pack.
Can you pack just the kitchen?
Yes and in fact it is the most common partial pack we do. The kitchen is the slowest room to pack well and also the one where DIY packing does the most damage.
Do I have to buy boxes from you?
No. Use your own if you have them. We bring the specialty items most people do not, such as dish barrels, picture cartons and wardrobe boxes and we only charge for what we use.
